~Executive Committee Responsibilities~
Executive Officer responsibilities are as follows:
Party Chairman-
Chief organizer and fundraiser for the County party. Handles public relations and community outreach.
Vice-Chair -
Assists the Party Chair and handles other specific assignments as delegated.
Secretary-
Responsible for all the minutes and notifications for party functions.
Treasurer-
Responsible for the finances and budgets for party functions.
Legislative District Chairs and Vice-Chairs are organized along geographical lines according to our State Representatives. For instance, I previously served as Chair for Legislative District 19 which is represented by Sheryl Allen in the State House of Representatives. There are 9 Legislative Districts in Davis County, hence 18 Legislative District Chairs and Vice-Chairs. Responsibilities include: Organizing your Legislative District Caucuses in the Spring of 2010, serving on the Executive Committee and serving on the Credentials Committee.
Senate District Chairs and Vice-Chairs are organized along geographical lines according to our State Senators. There are 4 Senate Districts in Davis County which gives us 8 Senate District Chairs and Vice-Chairs. Responsibilities include: Serving on the finance committee, assisting with events as needed and serving on the Executive Committee.
After our organizing convention, the new Chair will assign more specific responsibilities and committee assignments for the Executive Committee members based on needs and individual talents.
It is important to note that Executive Officers and Legislative and Senate District Chairs are both automatic State and County Delegates. Legislative and Senate Vice-Chairs are automatic County Delegates. This status is given considering the tremendous time and effort it takes to organize caucuses, which does not allow these individuals the ability to go to their precinct and run for these positions.
