Julie Fisher

For House District 17

Julie Fisher of Fruit Heights was first elected to the Utah State House of Representatives in 2004.  Prior to her election, Julie successfully lobbied the Legislature twice as a citizen to change laws she felt were weak, or carried unintended consequences.  In one instance, she spent virtually the entire session at the Capitol.  She was also known within her community for her time spent volunteering at local schools.  As a conservative, Julie is a strong advocate for economic development and improved transportation in Davis County.  Her top priorities for the immediate future include assisting Davis County from the state level in solving issues surrounding property taxes, corridor preservation for the future Legacy North, using Utah's natural resources for energy independence, government ethics reform, and strong public schools.
Julie was recently presented with the "2008 Leadership Award" by the Davis County Chamber of Commerce.  In 2006, she was recognized as "Representative of the Year" by the Davis County Republican Women.
Julie Fisher is a former television news anchor.  She is married to radio broadcaster Scott Fisher and has four adult children, Allison, Eric, Anna, and Steve.
Rep. Fisher serves on the Transportation Standing Committee, the Workforce Services and Community and Economic Development Standing Committee, and the Economic Development and Revenue Appropriations Subcommittee.  She also serves on the Board of the Davis Chamber.
